Important information about your product installation

What is a license code?

The license code is a piece of information required to complete the installation of the software. For security reasons, we do not copy the private key onto the client machine. Instead, it resides on our servers, and thus the need for an Internet connection to obtain a code that allows the installation of the software to be complete.
What is an challenge code?

The challenged code is an encrypted code that contains the serial number and unique product ID of the software. This code can be obtained during the installation of the software, and is validated through this page. Once the challenge code is validated, you will obtain a License Code that will allow the installation of the software to complete.
Why is an internet connection required?

An Internet connection is required in order to obtain the license code from our servers. When the machine where the products is being installed has an Internet connection, this process is automatic. Only the serial number and a unique product ID provided by the installation program is sent to our servers.

Alternatively, if necessary, this information could be submitted from another computer that is connected to the Internet. When the machine where the products is being installed does not have an Internet connection, the installation program will provide a challenge code that can be used to obtain the license code from any machine with an Internet connection.
Can I still use the software if I don't obtain a license code?

During installation, the customer has the option of bypassing the process of obtaining a valid license code. In this case, the installation program will provide a temporary license code. The customer will eventually need to reinstall the software with a valid license code.
What about security issues?

The information is encrypted using the standard RSA Public/Private key methodology.

Our installation does not scan your hard drive or gather any personal information from your computer; therefore, no privacy issues should be of concern to our customers.

Customers are still encouraged to register the product using the traditional and voluntary web site registration form.

Our goal is to prevent installation of serial numbers that have been obtained from fraudulent purchases, returned products, expired programs and other suspicious means.
